Wichita Baby Gala 2017 - The Recap
On August 8, 2017, something awesome happened: the inaugural Wichita Baby Gala!
Wichita Baby Gala: The Black Tie Baby Fair is an exciting upscale baby fair event for those who are pregnant, have little ones, or are planning to become pregnant - and those who love them. Characterized by posh surroundings, a curated collection of the highest quality baby and family-related vendors, breakout sessions with local experts, amazing giveaways, and high-value swag bags, the Wichita Baby Gala was a huge success and attracted expectant parents and families from all over the Wichita metro area.
Sponsored by Wichita Doula, the Gala was able to connect parents with many incredible resources both local and national.

The Undercover Baby (The Baby Abode), owned by local Wichita businesswoman Cheryl Kinkaid, was at the Gala displaying their multi-use carseat covers which triple as nursing covers and shopping cart covers.

The Gala featured three educational breakout sessions from local experts:
Elisabeth Goebel, R.N., CPST - Via Christi educator and car seat safety expert provided a mini class on what parents need to know about keeping their baby safe in the car.
Sara Skiles, owner of Wichita Doula and certified placenta encapsulation specialist, teaches parents about the benefits and safety considerations of placenta encapsulation to aid in postpartum recovery.
Erin Flory Robertson, director of Riverside Music Together, provides parents with some musical tools to keep in their parenting "toolbox".

Wichita Doula loves to give back, and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to raise resources for local families in need!
Our silent auction raised funds for the Wichita Doula agency to be able to offer some limited scholarships to young low-income parents who want to experience the innumerable benefits of professional labor and postpartum support. Thanks to all of our guests' generous bids, we were able to kick off our fundraiser to a great start and each item was taken home.
