Meet Tiffany, Prenatal & Postpartum Fitness Instructor

I’m excited to introduce you to a great local resource for prenatal and postpartum fitness in Wichita! My personal trainer and friend Tiffany is the subject of today’s post.

Meet Tiffany Harlan: Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Prenatal & Postnatal Fitness Specialist

  1. How did you get started as a prenatal and postpartum fitness instructor?

TH: While I was pregnant, I did a lot of research on how to work out properly during pregnancy and postpartum. I noticed that there was not much information out there and a market that was untapped. I knew I wanted to do more as a personal trainer, so I decided to get certified as a prenatal and postnatal fitness specialist, so that I could help moms to be and postpartum moms.

2. What's the difference between prenatal and postpartum classes, and regular classes?

TH: My prenatal and postpartum classes focus on teaching moms and moms-to-be on how to train properly during pregnancy and postpartum. The classes focus on primarily strengthening your pelvic floor and core.

3. What are some of the biggest benefits you have experienced by working with new moms?

TH: I have experienced SO MANY benefits by working with moms. I have made some great friends since starting my classes and truly feel like I have built a great community for my moms. We go on play dates and have gatherings at least once a month. It truly takes a village and I am so thankful for my village of moms!

4. What does a typical class look like? Describe what a new client could expect for their first class.

TH: I offer 3 different classes that I offer for moms and moms to be!

My Bump Fit class is for prenatal moms.  This class is designed to keep you moving safely during your pregnancy. This class will focus on strength training, core, and pelvic floor strengthening. You will learn to use a variety of equipment from resistance bands and dumbbells, to barbells and cables.

My Stroller Bootcamp class is a fun outdoor workout with your little one. This class includes cardio, strength training, and mat work to focus on re-building core strength, through a series of safe and targeted exercises. You will use bands and dumbbells in this class.

My Strong as a Motha’ class is for all moms that love to babywear! This 45-minute baby-friendly, postnatal strength & cardio interval class is designed to help rebuild strength, core, and your pelvic floor with your baby comfortably and safely in your carrier. This class incorporates timed intervals, so you will do a set of movements for 45-60 seconds. You will use dumbbells and bands in this class.
