2018 Wichita Baby Gala Recap!
The second annual Wichita Baby Gala was pretty magical this year. Everything went off without a hitch, the venue looked beautiful, the cake was delicious, the booths were stellar, and the silent auction items were furiously bid on. Oh, and it was a SOLD OUT EVENT! NBD!
Our honored co-sponsor, Buy Buy Baby, helped us pull out all the stops this year by providing TWO Oxo Tot Cubby Strollers for two lucky families at the Gala.

Guests were asked to donate a pack of diapers to help local families in need. As most of you know, Wichita Doula spearheads an annual diaper drive each spring to raise diapers for vulnerable Wichita babies. The Gala is a follow up to that and this year’s collection of 2309 diapers brings us up to almost 10,000 for the year! WOW!
Each pack of diapers netted the guests an extra giveaway ticket for a chance to win one of our prize bundles. These bundles included a 4-in-1 convertible crib (provided courtesy of the Wichita Baby Company) and an OXO Tot Cubby Stroller (provided courtesy of buybuyBABY) and were valued at over $1000! Guests were able to bid on exciting products and gift certificates in our silent auction, with 100% of the proceeds going toward providing essential labor and postpartum care for parents whose spouses are deployed. One of the big highlights of the Wichita Baby Gala is our educational sessions with local experts. We were proud to welcome Breauna Chambers speaking on the fundamentals of infant massage; Meridian Faul, CPM on the effects of fear during labor and how to combat them; and Dr. Anne Zauderer on hormonal balance during pregnancy and postpartum. These speakers provided the new parents at the Gala with valuable insight to help them have a smooth and enjoyable experience with their new babies!
Good thing there were a few leftover cupcakes because our team deserved them! ;) The Gala is such a fun and exciting event, but the amount of work to pull it off is PHEW! :)
The effort is 1000% worth it, seeing all the beautiful parents, fresh babies, everyone having a good time, and raising these diapers and funding for Wichita families!
